Traveling Fools!

We are so blessed to have Gavin in our family. Not only because he is sweet and lovable and just about as perfect as perfect can be. But also because he loves to travel with his on the go parents! The past three weeks we have been home a total of three days. Craziness! But it has been so much fun.

Our first trip took us to Wichita, Kansas. I guess I can mark that state off my list because I had never been there before. I was actually really surprised at how nice it was. Almost any plane you have flown on was built there. Chad had to go through some courses there so we tagged along. We shopped, ate at some wonderful restaurants and melted in the heat. But we had a great time.

Eating at the Pumphouse, a local favorite. One of very few family photos!

So tired!
The next week we were in Florida for a short visit. Minus the humidity and the bugs, it was a wonderful visit. I've been gone for a little over a year now and I have quickly forgotten how miserable those two elements are! While I was there I made the decision to cut off my hair. It was getting so long and becoming more of a nuisance with Gavin constantly pulling on it. I absolutely love it and I am so glad I got it cut. (Thank you, Miss Amy!!) My husband loves my long hair so I decided to inform him of this decision AFTER it was done. He ended up really liking it but drew the line in the sand when I said I wanted to cut it more. Marriage is all about compromise, even when it comes to hair! My trips home are never long enough. I always need more time to see everyone. If I did not get to see you this time around, we will be back for Christmas. And this time Chad will be with us!! Yay!!!

Our next trip, two days after returning from Florida, took us to San Antonio and Austin. Chad and I went to San Antonio right after we got married. So we were very excited to return over a year later with our sweet baby boy. And this time Chad was able to fly with us so this made for an extra special trip for Mommy! Four hands are so much better than two when juggling a 14 pound 5 month old through the airport. The weather was PERFECT! We have had such unbearably hot weather, it was so nice to have a break from it. I could actually take Gavin outside without worrying about him having a heat stroke just from sitting in a stroller.

Getting ready to head out!

Gavin at the Alamo

Gavin and Mommy on the River Walk- he looks thrilled
We went to Sea World while we were in San Antonio. The weather was great and there wasn't a lot of people there so it was the perfect time to go. Gavin LOVED all of the fish tanks. We never got to see Shamu as the show didn't come on until 3:00 and there was no way Gavin was going to last that long. He did so good and really enjoyed his first Sea World trip. I can't wait to take him when he is a little older and can really enjoy it.

Everyone commented on his FSU shirt- Texans hate OU!
Beautiful coral in the fish tank- Gavin loved all the pretty colors
Shark tank- yikes!

Completely amazed

He was so tired!

This was my favorite part- except they stunk so bad!
While we were in Austin, I got to visit with one of my very good friends from El Paso. Lorene and her husband are expecting their first baby in February and we are so excited for them!! As you can see, she is just adorable and Gavin loved her. I miss all of my friends in El Paso :(

We are back in Oklahoma now and glad to be in the comfort of our own home. It is nice to travel and see new places but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed and lounging on your own couch!
