This month is many, many things to us. First and most importantly, Chad and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We have done quite a lot in our first two years of marriage. In all, we will have moved three times, welcomed Gavin to our family and certainly grown in our love for each other. It has been nothing short of an adventure.
May also means Chad's last month here before he leaves for nine months for Afghanistan. I won't even try to express to you how this makes me feel. I just need to focus on getting him through it and coming home. In the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I've got to say about that.
This also means we have to pack up and move. Again. Such is our life. I love being Chad's wife and Gavin's mom. This is the territory that comes along with it and I will gladly row the boat through whatever waters come our way. However, I am allowed to complain about it, just a little bit. It is just so stressful!!! Trying to pack up while having Gavin crawling everywhere is just a pure joy, let me tell you. At first you try to pack everything with organization; in some sort of pattern. But at the end, you are stuffing things in boxes and just cramming paper around all of it and hoping that will suffice for proper packing protection. That's how it is with me anyways. And on top of trying to pack up the house, we also have realtors bringing people over to show the house since the owner has put it up for sale while we are still in it. Yeah. This is REAL fun for me.
Among all the changes that are going on in our lives, Gavin still lives every day as normal. The fact that his book shelf if totally void of any books and his two toy boxes have been dwindled down to one means nothing to him. As long as he is fed and is put to sleep in his crib, he's good. He is so close to walking. He holds on to anything and just "Spidermans it" throughout the living room and kitchen. He eats CONSTANTLY. I mean this. We taught him the sign language for "more" and that is all he does. Crawl, crawl, "more". Roll car, roll car, "more". Teeter around coffee table, "more". It never ends. I picked him up from the nursery this morning and the lady told me he almost ate all of their goldfish crackers. He's a moving garbage disposal that has an incurable hunger for lima beans. His eating skills are sharpened to the fullest.
So those are the adventures of us this month. To my Florida friends and family, I cannot wait to see all of you and spend some quality time with each of you. We are looking forward to getting this move behind us and hopefully having a quick next nine months ahead. Here are some recent pictures of Gavin for you to enjoy!
