Enjoying Mother's Day with my mom |
This Mother's Day was extra special as we got to spend it with MY mother! She came to Oklahoma for the weekend to help watch Gavin while Chad and I packed up the house. I know, that doesn't sound like a very special way to spend the weekend but we did have fun. Nana got to spend some quality time with Gavin and we got a lot of stuff done around here so that my stress levels can go down a tad! The house is becoming more and more empty which means we have less and less stuff to move. Mom says it echoes in the living room now so I guess that means we are making progress!
But it wasn't all work and no play. We took Mom to Lake Hefner yesterday evening and it could not have been more perfect! The weather was fantastic and we got to watch the sunset over the lake at the lighthouse. There were tons of sailboats all over the lake and it was just gorgeous. Gavin had such a blast, that he talked about it all the way home. (Watch the video below)
So now it is Monday and we are back to reality. However, reality is getting to be bare walls and empty rooms. Mom is on her way home and Chad is busy at work. He only has a few days left with DHS. We are leaving Thursday for vacation with his family in the Smoky Mountains. (Just a side note, I think there needs to be an "E" in Smoky Mountains. It just defies all rules in the English language and looks absolutely silly.) When we come back we will only have a few days left and it will be time to pack it up and start making our way to Florida. Oh goodness, now I am starting to stress out a little. Better to not think about it!

I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I am being reminded of my motherly duties as Gavin is tugging on my pant legs and let's just say he smells quite ripe! Back to reality in deed!
Precious little babbler! Love it!
