Movie Night

Chad and I have bounced around the idea of taking Gavin to his first movie. You don't really  know when is a good time to take them. It is not really a cheap way to spend an evening and if he doesn't like it, then all that money goes down the drain. Gavin is really particular about loud noises and I just wasn't sure if he was ready for the extreme experience of the movie theater. But Gavin has been seeing the commercials for the movie Planes and he gets all excited when he sees them. So we thought maybe it was time to try it out.

They have a really, really nice movie theater in Moore. You can sit down at a table and enjoy some adult beverages (this is something we will have to do when we are sans Gavin) and they also have a cry room in case you are having trouble with the little ones. So we headed down there and got Gavin all pumped up for his movie. Right off the bat he was wide-eyed about the amount of popcorn he could see in the see-through glass at the concession stand. He didn't even know that much existed in the world, much less right at his finger tips. So we got our obnoxiously huge bucket of popcorn and settled into our nice, cushy seats. I waited for the enormous screen to light up and the speakers to blare at their highest decimal and anticipated Gavin's reaction. He was glued the moment it all started. Every once in awhile he would reach over and tell Chad he wanted some more popcorn but he sat in my lap the whole time and watched the entire movie without a sound. We were really proud of him and he still talks about the planes. I'm glad we took him and we look forward to the next movie. We saw a preview for a Disney/Pixar movie that is coming out near Christmas and to me, those are the best movies ever. I think I'm more excited about it than Gavin!
