This week we have discovered that the sound of running water is something Gavin loves. I will put him in his bouncey seat and set him up on the counter and start washing dishes. He is immediately mesmerized by it. This also makes for tons of hand washed dishes. More work for Mommy but whatever makes the baby happy! He still hates to have his diaper changed so when it is time for bath and we take off his clothes and diaper, he instantly goes into defiant mode. But as soon as we walk him into the bathroom and he hears the tub filling up, a transformation takes place. His face immediately says "Oh. Well. If you had just said so in the first place we could have saved each other a lot of trouble."
He is doing so good with holding his head up. Oh, I am so proud of him!! When I am burping him, he will pick up his head and just look around. And he loves sitting in his Bumbo seat. I look at him holding up his head and I immediately think "This of course means he is destined for great things." There is simply no other explanation.
His facial features resemble Chad but his personality is already showing signs of me. And this is not necessarily a good thing. The first thing that jumps out at you is his waking up process. It is long, drawn out and usually ends with him crying until he gets something to eat. This is EXACTLY my waking up process. (Well, used to be. Now it is hear Gavin cry, throw off the sheets, stumble into his nursery and blindly go through the feeding routine. After doing this three times, I am just gorgeous! The bags under my eyes have bags under their eyes.) Gavin is so dramatic when he wakes up. And it is quite hilarious to watch. He stretches, yawns, poots, kicks, whines and makes the funniest faces. If it is any sort of reaction, he is doing it and doing it loud. Everyone must know the prince has awoken and is NOT happy his tummy is empty! (Especially when Mommy is sticking a camera in his face!)
Hilarious!! |
And this says "Whoa! THAT was amazing. What a beautiful world!" Ok, so it is more than likely the oncoming of gas but I like to think his thoughts are more profound than bodily functions. I know his little brain is thinking all sorts of smart and amazing thoughts. Oh yes, he will most certainly be a huge, positive factor in this world. I just know it!!
