'Tis the Season

We are in full swing of the holiday spirit in our house! We decided to forgo putting up our Christmas tree this year. We will be in Florida for Christmas and our tree is tucked away deep in our unpacked boxes. However, I did manage to get our fireplace all decorated and I do have to say, it looks so good I wouldn't want the tree to out trump it!

I made the burlap wreath on the mirror- you can't really see it but it turned out pretty cute!

I made this wreath too for our front door

Everyone in our neighborhood decorated their mailbox so we could not be the only house on the block with a bare mailbox!

When you look at our beautiful Christmas themed fireplace, please pay specific attention to the stockings. I have wanted these stockings for a very long time. Every year I would get the Pottery Barn holiday catalog and there sat those gorgeous stockings among the pages. I always said when I got a family that those would be the stockings I wanted hanging from our mantel. And finally, this is the year I get to live the dream!!!

They are just as beautiful as I imagined!

So even though we don't have a tree up, I managed to spread some holiday cheer in our house. It is after all, Gavin's very first Christmas. Which just makes the reason for the season extra special!
