People, I have been waiting a very long time to say this to you. A VERY long time. We have sold the house in Tennessee!!!! This thing has been a huge burden to us. Especially my dear husband who has spent a lot of money and many a night worrying over this thing. It has been nothing but a bolder on his shoulders and I cannot tell you enough how happy I am that he no longer has to worry over it again. I can finally say, and with a great deal of joy, we are no longer homeowners!! We have waited patiently and prayed hard for this day to come.
So 2012 has started off nicely for us. We can get excited about buying our own home in Oklahoma and I can finally do all of the Pinterest projects I have been collecting in the hopes of having a house to decorate. So this is a good a time as any to tell you our plans for the coming year.
While we are very excited to do some house hunting and find that one little perfect place to call home, it will not be a task we will do right away. Some of you may know and others haven't heard yet, but Chad is deploying to Afghanistan for nine months starting in June. While we are certainly not thrilled by this news, it is something we have known about for a while now and have made the most of it. If it were to happen, this is the best time. Gavin is not in school and we are not rooted down by a home here which means I am able to go to Florida while he is deployed. I will need the support system and feel it is a much better solution than staying here by myself with Gavin. So as of now, it looks like we will put our belongings in storage and temporarily move to Florida sometime in June. Once Chad gets back from his deployment we will start our house hunting and pick right back up where we left off. It will be a tough transition but those are the cards we are dealt. And we will make the most of it. I plan on taking lots of trips to Tennessee to see Chad's parents and will travel to New Jersey and Atlanta to see some friends that I desperately need to spend time with. The good news is, Chad will be here for Gavin's first birthday and make it back in time for his second! We look at the positive and try to steer clear of the negative. I just hope his deployment goes by fast. As quick as the months have flown by since we have had Gavin and I complain constantly of him growing up too fast, I do hope Chad's being gone goes by like a wink.
So even though it will be a challenging year, we are so blessed that it has started us off on a clean slate. This house getting sold is definitely a nice jumping off point! I can finally look forward to getting a stamp with my permanent return address on it! And my husband will no doubt get a completely, worry free, good nights rest tonight.
