This and That

I despise, absolutely HATE snotty noses. Gavin is having a bout with a runny nose and a cruddy cough. I am constantly wiping his nose to keep it clear of snot streaks. It is so gross to me. A dirty diaper doesn't phase me but put a kid near me with a gooey nose I will come undone. I have a stock pile of Boogie Wipes to aid me in my battle with Gavin's nostrils. I will be glad when he is all dry and clear.

His two top teeth are seriously inches from popping through. I feel like we have been waiting on them for months now. I took him to the doctor a few weeks ago and she commented on how odd it is to have his top teeth coming through and absolutely no sign of any on the bottom. Gavin likes to blaze his own path. We were happy to find out there were no shots on this visit and he is growing quite nicely: 30 inches long and 19 1/2 pounds.

He has discovered the utter joy that is to be found in the game of peek-a-boo. I could do it for an hour and it would not be enough for him. His belly laugh is so addicting to me so I keep doing it long after I thought I would stop.

He has all of a sudden decided he hates being put in his crib. We used to be able to lay him in there and he would babble himself to sleep without even as much as a peep. Not anymore. He is pretty good at night because he is so tired from his day. But nap time is a complete battle. One that he does not realize that he will never win. But he tries anyway. He is a determined little turkey. But Mommy is the law and nap time is not only crucial for Gavin but a necessity for me!

So that is what is going on these days. Nothing much but just watching Gavin change and grow. Chad is out of town this weekend so we have been having fun just the two of us. We are getting ready to head to Lake Tahoe this week so there is lots to be done around the house. And Gavin is always in the middle of everything so I just make the most of it!

Such a cheeser
He loves playing with my shoes.

So happy when he wakes up!
His idea of helping fold clothes.
