Gavin Gives a Surprise!!

For many months now, I have been planning a secret trip home to surprise my parents and my brother. Chad had to go out of town for a few weeks so we decided to sneak down to Florida for a little "Gotcha! Moment". And it totally worked!

Danielle picked me and Gavin up at the airport and helped us set the stage. Dad was already home when we pulled into the driveway so after a little coaxing from Danielle, she got him to walk up to the car and opened the back door where he quickly realized that me and Gavin were sitting in the car. He didn't say anything for a solid minute. He was in total shock. So I got him to hold Gavin and we hid in their bedroom while Mom came in from the grocery store. She walked into the house and was talking to Danielle when Dad walked out with Gavin in his hands. She squealed and grabbed Gavin out of his arms and I think about an hour later realized that I was there too.

We didn't get to surprise David until the next day but he pretty much had the same reaction as Dad. Just total shock and a little mumbling here and there. But he actually hugged me first and then grabbed Gavin.

We had a total blast on our little vacation. I drove over to Jacksonville one morning and got my Grammie so she could be in on all the fun. Gavin turned Mom and Dad's house into a jungle gym. Toys were always everywhere and he put a lot of wear and tear on their hard wood floors and outside deck with his walker. I got to enjoy some very much needed girl time with my girlfriends and got to squeeze in a FSU baseball game. I even got to enjoy a night of visiting with all of my old propane industry friends one night at a dinner my dad hosted. It was a lot of fun and it is always hard leaving my family and friends. But I very much missed my husband and Gavin couldn't wait to show his daddy how much he had grown since he last saw him. So it is nice to be home and be back into a routine. And of course, we will be back and this time for a big long, stay. The whole thing is a double-edged sword for me, so I will just leave it at: until next time!
