It's a Zoo Out There

Chad took a day off work so we could have a well-deserved family day. He has been out of town and is soon to be going out of town again, so we needed a little family time just the three of us. So we decided to take advantage of the wonderful weather and took Gavin to the zoo.

They had a female tiger that had had triplets during last summer. They were the same age as Gavin and about the size of a Volkswagen. Ok, so maybe not THAT big but they were huge. I couldn't believe they were still only cubs. I vowed to never complain about how heavy Gavin is for at least a week.

Staring at the tiger cubs
We saw monkeys, elephants, seals and all sorts of animals. Gavin really enjoyed the other kids that were at the zoo more than the animals but that is okay. He is still learning all sorts of things about this big world of ours. Monkeys and elephants are pretty boring to him at this point in life. But we all enjoyed our day together. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a relaxing day with my baby boy and my husband. I never take for granted how lucky I am to have them both all to myself :)
