Nana Comes for a Visit

Ok so it has been a REALLY long time since I have attended to my blogging duties. Here is a way over due post on my mom's visit in February.

Going to pick up Nana at the airport
My mom has not been back here since Gavin was born. And believe me when I tell you, that visit was chaotic and not the least bit restful or relaxing. So I was looking forward to having her back so she could have a nice visit. Chad was going to Colorado to go snowboarding with his college buddies so we took advantage and planned a nice girl's weekend. (With Gavin of course!)

However, the weather was not all together cooperative with our plans. It was rainy and cold practically the whole time she was here. So that meant a lot of staying at the house but we made the most of it. We got a little shopping done and I got to show her a little more of Oklahoma. We took a trip to Norman and I got to introduce her to our church. It was a really fun, relaxing weekend.

Gavin and Mommy
Chad got back on Monday. We took advantage of having a babysitter and got to do something we have always wanted to do since moving to Oklahoma: go to a Thunder game!! We had so much fun. And I was so glad we did not take Gavin. It was super loud in there and our seats were so high, the first thing I thought that I would NOT want to do is climb those stairs with him in my arms. But Chad and I loved every minute of it and have definitely decided to get tickets when we get back here from deployment.

Mom and Chad both left on Tuesday. Chad had to go to Alabama for training and Mom had to go back to reality. It is never a good idea to have your husband and your mom leave you on the same day! I have to say that Chad and I really love it here in Oklahoma. But it is really hard not having family near to help out with the little things and even the big things. So for all of you who have your family close, be thankful for it. We miss ours every day.
