Gavin: 11 Months

Oh my does this month bring on some MAJOR changes! Gavin is really starting to show signs of becoming a toddler and no longer a little baby boy. The biggest one being crawling!

He was so subtle about it that at first, I wasn't even quite sure he was crawling. He took one little "crawl" and that was it. Then a little while later he took two. Before we knew it, he was on his way across the living room. Now he follows me throughout the house! Definitely time to Gavin-proof pretty much everything. I am so proud of him. He is a complete pro at it now. However, this makes for some interesting shower time for mommy. I am going to have to come up with another plan. My sitting him on the floor with some toys to play with approach is soooo last month!

His personality is really starting to shine through. I am proud to report that he may look like his daddy but he totally acts like me. He is quite dramatic at times, completely goofy and wants it all his way. He will give you the biggest, cheesiest grin you have ever seen. And he just started this new frown face that we can't quite figure out what it is he is trying to relay to us but it is hilarious.

He will wave bye-bye to you and if you ask him where the fan is, he will point up to the ceiling. He says uh-ho but not at all in the right context, but I don't care. I love it. Eating is a very serious venture for him and if it is over before he is done, he will definitely let you know he is not happy about it.

We have six white, sparkling little teeth in our mouth and there are others that are making their way into the world. He had a little reprieve from it for about two weeks but he has started drooling again and is constantly biting on his hands. But he is handling it like a champ and hopefully it won't be too rough on him. I know he will be glad when it is all over.

He has easily mastered the art of the sippy cup. At first it was a little bit of a challenge, but he took to it easily and now it is second nature to him.

Sitting in the infant carrier one last time. He's in a big boy seat now!
I am in total shock that in two short weeks we will have a one year old baby boy on our hands. This past year has been hard, exciting, trying and wonderful. Watching Gavin grow up has been a total thrill. Especially since the little boy he is growing into is so much fun and so stinking sweet. I always think I couldn't possibly love him any more than I do today. But then tomorrow comes and I love him even more.
