Summer Days

After experiencing some pretty turbulent storms the past few weeks, we are finally starting to have some clear summer days. It also means the temperatures are starting to rise but I guess that is better than rainy days and scary storms constantly passing through. Gavin is more than ready to get outside and be a boy!

We recently took a trip to the zoo and oh what fun it was!!! The last time we were here, Gavin was barely one and was more interested in the crowds of people than any animal they had to offer. So this time was lots of fun for both of us. It also meant Mommy didn't have much free time to grab the camera and snap some pics of our adventure. So even though we were low on photographs, we were high on fun!

One good thing about apartment living is the pool! We are still trying to get Gavin to be comfortable in the pool. It is a slow process but I know he will get there. Before we know it, we won't be able to keep him out. Everything in its own time.

And what summer can be complete without an outside party?? We went to a crawfish boil with all the guys from Chad's work. It was being held at a community center in a neighborhood. This place was like a resort! It was beautiful and had lots of pools and waterfalls. And of course, lots of fresh crawfish that had literally been flown in from Louisiana. It's nice knowing pilots! Gavin constantly surprises me with what he will and won't do. And apparently eating crawfish is on his Will Do list. He ate his weight in what he called "bugs with pinchers".

Mommy has been busy with all of her friends having babies and hiring me to do some artwork for their nurseries. It's been really fun and I'm having a hard time keeping up with it all. I'm thrilled people like my work and want to have it hanging on their walls! I have some other pieces I am working on at the moment. I will post them once they're done.

I also did a little something for myself. I have always adored Audrey Hepburn ever since my mom introduced me to My Fair Lady when I was a little girl. No one can yell "Move your bloomin arse!!!" with such elegance!

We've enjoyed downtown OKC, days at the park and of course watching our house start coming to life. They have the plumbing in and all the concrete poured. Now we are waiting on the frame to start going up. It's so exciting seeing it all come together!!

So we are in full summer mode! I hope everyone is enjoying theirs and we hope to spend at least some of it with you if we can!
