Summer Vacation

Gavin and I finally made it back to Oklahoma yesterday. We have been in Florida for over a month while Chad has been in Georgia for training for work. We went to the beach, had play dates, got sick, visited friends, took a road trip in the RV, ate lobster and did all sorts of fun and interesting things on our visit. Chad was even able to come over a few weekends and spend time with us. It is nice to get away but coming home is good too. My plants were on the verge of death and I'm sure our downstairs neighbors completely missed the sound of Gavin running around everywhere every morning at 7:30, including weekends. It was time to come home. Even though I did not miss those three flights of stairs I have to crawl up and down every day to get to our door. My silent prayer of the management installing an elevator during our absence was quietly ignored. I procrastinated hauling my almost 50 pound suitcase up those stairs until I realized everything I needed was in fact inside said suitcase. Waiting 24 hours for Chad to get home was not going to cut it. The teeth needed brushing and the clothes needed washing. Responsibility is a bummer.

I have completely missed watching the progress on our house. Gavin and I immediately drove over there to check on things and it is coming along nicely! The brick is going up now and it looks so good! We have an appointment for a walk through on Monday so lets keep our fingers crossed that everything is where it needs to be and how we want it. They have already put a door in the back of our third bay garage that was not in our contract. However, we did want one just not the price tag that came with it. So we scored big on that mistake! Lets hope they keep messing up in that same fashion.

We are taking a little trip to Kansas this month and then the big vacation to Europe is coming up in September! It is going to take me between now and then to figure out how to pack 2 weeks of clothes into a carry-on suitcase. Chad keeps telling me it is possible but I don't think our idea of packing light is the same. Packing light for him is one pair of pants and three shirts and the shoes you are wearing. For me it's 10 outfits and taking 3 pairs of shoes instead of 6. And let's not even mention toiletries. I have no idea how I'm going to manage it but I am going to try. At least I will be able to easily get my own suitcase up the stairs when we return home!
