My Tenure Comes to an End

Moving to El Paso entails many different changes for me and I think one of the biggest is having to quit my job. I started working for G. David Rogers and Associates 11 years ago. (That still sounds so insane to me!) We manage the Florida Propane Gas Association and the Florida Natural Gas Association. These two industries are made up of the most wonderful people to work for. I have thoroughly enjoyed the friendships I have made and the experiences I have had with these organizations. I have been able to see some of the most gorgeous beaches in the state of Florida and stay in the most extraordinary resorts. I have learned so many things in the ways of legislation and laws concerning these two industries. It has all been truly fascinating to be a part of.

This past week we had our annual Propane Spring Board meetings here in Tallahassee. We always host a dinner out at my dad's Lakeview Hunting Preserve and it is an event that is heavily attended and very much enjoyed. The photo below is of my brother and I and a few of the industry folks at the dinner.

Well this year they all had a little surprise in store for me: they threw me a bridal shower. All 70 people that attended signed a card for Chad and I, gave us money and bought us gifts. It was one of the most humbling experiences I have ever been through. My heart was truly full. I will certainly miss seeing and talking to these people every week. Not everyone gets the satisfaction out of their job that I have gotten out of mine. Not only do I believe in the plight of both of these associations, I also believe these folks are some of the finest I have ever had the privilege to know.

  1. You make such a cute cowgirl bride. What a nice surprise they threw for you - you would think these people loved you or something. I love you very much and I am very proud of you and I am just so thankful that you and Chad found each other and are getting married. I will miss you terribly, but I want you to know that I am so very happy for you. Mom

  2. Well I love you too and you should not make your daughter cry on her own blog. I think there is a rule somewhere about that!
