I was cleaning out Gavin's closet yesterday. I made a small pile in the corner of clothes that he gradually outgrows. Before I knew it, the pile was starting to take over the entire closet. So it was time to do some straightening up. Chad had a night flight which meant he was going into work late so I had to take advantage of the time I was given! As I started to pack the clothes into a box, I noticed the further I got to the bottom of the pile, the smaller the clothes were. As I placed the last few outfits in the box I found these striped onesies. I had forgotten all about them. A few days after we brought Gavin home, Mom and I had to go to Target and get clothes for him as he was too small to fit into what we had. Plus I wanted the sleeves that cupped over his hands because I was too afraid to clip his nails at the time. Now here we are, almost four months later, and he has out grown so many clothes and I can practically clip his nails with my eyes closed. I guess while Gavin has been growing, so have I!

From then to now... |
My best friend Marie just had her little girl last week and seeing her made me think of how tiny Gavin was that first month. You don't even realize how much they grow right before your eyes until you stop and blink. You go back through pictures and notice that he couldn't fit into the car seat without the insert to support him. And you find tiny clothes that used to swallow him and now you couldn't fit it around his leg. Part of me wants to hold him so tight and never let him grow anymore. But the other part can't wait until he can hug me or crawl to his daddy. Its a constant struggle!
And speaking of crawling, my little monster is well on his way to taking himself on his own adventures and making my life absolutely insane. He is rolling over onto his tummy and starting to push up on his arms. Before we know it he will be sitting himself up straight. He used to cry any time we put him on his tummy. Now he is figuring it out and you can see the wheels turning in his head. I already have the plug covers ready to be installed. At the rate he is going, I might need to go ahead and get them in. Along with everything else we need to do to Gavin-proof our house. I am so not ready for any of this!!
