Friday was Veteran's Day and we were more than happy to spend it with our favorite soldier: Daddy! Chad had been gone all week in Virginia so we were glad to have him home and especially thankful for an extra day with him. We spent part of the day at our favorite park in Edmond.

We do not go very far without Sock Monkey these days |
We then headed to lunch where we got lots of compliments on our adorable little boy. And as you know, this has become my favorite thing. Sometimes I go out with him just to get a positive reaction from total strangers. It is seriously a fool proof ego booster. I mean, just the other day I said to myself, "I feel the need for some public adoration. I think I'll dress Gavin up, take him to Hobby Lobby and bask in his cuteness." It totally worked. Anyways, back to the subject at hand...
So we spent the whole day just being a family and doing well, really nothing. And it was wonderful. And we were completely appreciative for the opportunity to do nothing because it was given to us by the men and women of our armed forces. I am proud to know quite a few of them and am especially proud to be married to one. We should never, ever take for granted that we are given a special way of life. We enjoy our luxuries because of our soldiers. Whether you agree with what they do or not, they work hard every day to pay the price for your freedom. Many families have to suffer through a mom or dad, brother or sister, son or daughter who have to be over seas. So be sure to take the time to thank them and for heaven's sake, please send up a prayer for all of them. Let them know you are proud of what they do and it is not in vain. A very special, heart felt thank you goes out to my handsome, wonderful husband. I am so very proud of you. Thank you for everything you provide me and Gavin. I love you SO much!!
